What do you use the towing ring (it is there next to spare wheel) for?

Wagner 08-24-2007 09:08 AM

ahh, for towing the car.

It is essential under warranty that if a BMW needs to be 'pulled/towed' from a spot that the tow anchor must be used, else this can cause major issues for the tow company with BMW.

You mean it is for towing the same car in which it is? Can we use it tow another car with X5?

Wagner 08-24-2007 09:25 AM

...it is a tow hook...read the manual. It isn't for towing other cars, it is for towing the X5 if something goes wrong with it.

It could be used as an attachment point for towing a car or anthing else you would want to pull.

Should caveat that with it "REALLY DEPENDS" on what weight and duration when you plan to tow something with a threaded mount as opposed to a real tow point.
