haha yea... i've learned my lesson on cheaping out. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for and probably no one is going to manufacturer accessories better than OEM in many respects. Not to say that certain things aren't worth taking a chance on but don't be dissapointed if it ends up being more trouble than your savings are worth.

I had the dealer install the factory hitch on my 4.4i. I think total labor, tax, and parts was $1,200. Thought I would do it myself till I saw the DIY instructions.. screw that! haha

I went to the dealership on a Saturday and had one of the techs help me (we each had a side) put an OEM hitch on my X5 3.0/5 and I wouldn't suggest anything other than OEM, because the aftermarket ones just bolt on underneath but the OEM actually bolts right through into the to the area where the spare tire is stored, all parts needed were included from the rear bumper weight that needs to be changed right down to the 30A fuse to add into the panel. I was very surprised, and don't be afraid of the DIY instructions, they look intimidating, but once you get going it moves right along and everything actually makes sense as you're doing it also.
