Did my CV boots today....
 

The right outer CV boot tore and was leaking grease all over the wheel, I took it in immediately to my independent mechanic... Did the entire front, inner / outer CV boots (4 - pieces)

Total Cost = $550 including tax... I think I did pretty good..

how much labour is involved in changing one cv boot?

it was about 4 hours total to do both sides... I don't know what it is for one side, but I would estimate 2-3 hours they'll charge...

Only doing one side does not make much sense to me... if one goes, the other one is soon to as well... When I checked the left one, it was already cracking and ready to tear...

i just got mine back from dealer, they replaced the one front left (axle) and then replaced the right boot. Threw grease all over, guess its time to clean the wheels again.
