Resonator Question
Hey guys what's going on...I've got a couple of questions for you rebels that have cut off the resonators. Are you having any back pressure issues or any false check engine lights? What about the vibration factor...if any? I'm thinking about doing this mod. For you guys that paid to have it done, what's the going rate and the time frame..........Phil

Im going to do it myself next week... I purchased stainless steel piping and waiting for the X-pipe to arrive... I hope it goes well...

No issues at all. Love the Mod. cost 100 bucks at a custom exhaust shop. Good Luck.....You will Love it!!!!

i have my resonators removed already. What does the X-pipe do, and what sound does it add to the resonators, more raspy, less raspy or wat?
go to www.magnaflow.com... I purchased the X-pipe with diameter of 2.25".. hey imola4.8... so you remove your resonator and replaced it with what? Straight pipes?
another person on this forum putted on a x pipe and sounds good so i thought i will give it a try...
I did not use an X pipe. I put in 2 straight pipes.
Imola, how do like the sound without the x pipe? I spoke with the performance center crew at my stealer and was told that cutting off the resonators will give you a 3HP gain. Anyone know if that's the case. I was also talking with them about some software upgrades. Dinan is my first choice. I've used Dinan before on my ///M3 and was very happy. Do you guys know if the resonators being removed will effect after market exhuast performance or software enhancements. I had to leave the stealer to come home and log on to talk to the REAL experts.....Phil

I had the resonator cut out, replaced with 2.5" stainless striaght pipes. I definitely like the sound. Not sure about the HP gains. :dunno:
Ya i have only the resonators removed, but how diff will it make it sound wit the x-pipe what does the x-pipe do?
Tru-X crossover pipe represents a significant leap forward in technology over traditional H-pipes. The more gentle radius allows for better exhaust gas scavenging, noise cancellation and better balance between cylinder banks. The result is a significant increase in power and torque but a reduction in db sound levels... the best of both worlds.
