interior lights
hi all,
Just had my X5 2002 3.0l for service.....brakes cost me $500 Dudes, anyone know how to remove the light covers in the interior, my bulbs need replacing . Tx PS e53 still the MAC DADDY |
They just pop right off - very easy...

tried popping them offf, no luck...dont wanna break the darn covers

Try using a flathead screw driver with tape over the blade. Start from the side toward the rear of the car first...that's were the spring clips are at (don't start on the side that is toward the front of the car - that's where the plastic tabs of the light cover hooks into the headliner. If you do, it's guaranteed that you'll break them). The light near the rear view mirror even have an indentation for you to slip in a flathead screw driver.

Flathead with rubber tip or electric tape to pry them off. It's pretty easy.
BTW - what kind of job did they do on the brakes? If they did front and rear, that's actually a great price. I did it myself, and I spent about $400 just on parts. |
