Reliability: X5 made in US vs Germany
Is the X5 made in Germany more reliable than the one made in US? Bought a 2001 X5 made in Germany (70.000 miles). I have two kids and scared about all the "scary" stories that I find online related with this car. I should have done some research before and not after buying the car. If you have an answer for me please post the year your car was made and the country of assembly (if that doesn't show in your signature).
Thank you |
My understanding is that ALL X5 are made in the U.S. although all the parts, assembly, technology, engineers, etc. are from Germany. In terms of Reliability, I think these are great SAVs. They will run a long time if you do the proper maintenance. Unlike many other cars, the X5 has predictable problems which are easy to fix if you are on the look out for them (i.e., CV boots, window regulators, etc)
Hope this helps |
You didn't buy a X5 made in Germany. There weren't any built there. They are all built in South Carolina USA.
