She wouldn't start again this morning

Argh...
It happened two months ago, two days before she got wiped out. Dealer couldn't find anything. Battery was fine, alternator etc.

Came out this morning and nada...Just chirps like the alarm warning when I tried to crank her. Same chirps when I tried to see if the interior light worked. If I opened a door it would chirp until shut.

The tailgate wouldn't open again but at least this time I was able to open a rear door and reach over to grab the cables. She's at the dealer now.

Sorry L :( Time for that M6 ;)

CGSTL 09-25-2007 11:47 AM

Big time bummer, Laura! :( Sorry.

cmyX6go 09-25-2007 11:50 AM

No biggie, it's just annoying. I was worried about driving her after I got her started. Someone's (Novas I think) wife lost all power on the road because of an alternator. Wouldn't be fun during rush hour. No loaners beause it wasn't an appointment, they were all gone and my SA is on vacation this week. I have a Suzuki Grand Vitara. It's actually peepy and rides a hell of a lot better than that Jeep I had for a month.

While she's there they will check out that noise from the front wheel and install the new rearview.

DO NOT say the M word John  There was a nice blue M6 vert sitting there too.

Hush hush. She knows she's not supposed to buy herself a Christmas gift until LATER. Not 3 months in advance  Don't tempt her.

It'll be interesting to see what's up with her X5 this time. hopefully the fix will be quick.

SANguru 09-25-2007 01:09 PM

no juice.. classic sign that it's the battery...

motordavid 09-25-2007 02:32 PM

Damn, L...
you'd look fineazz in a blue M6 vert, imo!

I'm with SanGuru: bad batt or dead short or,
alt gone south which equals dead batt.

No. The SMG will probably fail, she'll probably break her back with the suspension, and the iDrive will scream random warning messages at her incessantly. :nanana:

So, what's the diagnosis on the X5?

why speak yet again when you have not driven one... the suspension is pretty damn compliant and much less "bouncy" than the X5. The idrive never gave me problems in either my M5 nor my 335i.

why do you always commment on shit you know nothing about?

Down boy...behave. I'll have none of this in my thread

Matt - they changed the battery. I don't know why it came back OK when it happened 2 months ago? They also replaced my rearview mirror, the compass was malfunctioning, which happened to be my fault. My friend had a necklace hanging around her mirror and I said I liked it. She bought me one. Well, turns out it's one of those magnetic things. I got back in the car to find a big note on an envelope with my necklace inside. It read "CUSTOMER...PLEASE DO NOT PUT MAGNETIC NECKLACE ON MIRROR, IT CAUSES COMPASS TO MALFUNCTION." How stupid did I feel.
