Damn vandals!
So reading another post mentioning a cut valve stem it made me want to ask the question...Has anyone else had any problems with vandalism? Curious if it is a problem in other parts of the U.S. and around the world.
We have already had someone dent and chip the hood with a rock and key about a 10 inch long scratch on the front fender. Neither of our other two bimmers had anything like this so it makes me wonder if punks know the difference in a $45k SUV and a $70k SUV or if it is a Cayenne owner envious of the better looking German truck :dunno: (j/k). But really it makes me want to snipe out these GD MFers and run their dead bodys over with my lawn mower...sorry I ran out of my Tourette's medication(no offense to those with this terrible but hillarious disease). |
I had the trunk of my 330 keyed.. It's about two inches long, and VERY deep. I tried touch up paint but now it looks worse. It happened when I was parked in downtown Manchester. On the X5, someone hit the panel above the rear wheel on the driver's side in a parking lot and left. So yes, it's a problem here in NH, too, but it's not as big as it is in other areas, I"d think. A few months ago I was in Boston with my friend in her ML500 and it was keyed, even though we parked in broad daylight in the Back Bay (which is a pretty wealthy neighborhood).

I think keying anybody's car is criminal. I had one of my other cars keyed on both sides, all panels. The insurance company wanted police report for such act of vandalism. If somebody has a problem they should be man enough to talk or face rather than damage an innocent vehicle which cannot defend itself. :D
I always park my car away from the crowd where it can seen from distance, don't worry about the walk. |
my truck was recently keyed up at mall in saugus. square one mall i believe.

Alot of times, it has to do with the way you park your car. Don't take up more space than what's needed. Be courteous...don't do such a sh*tty parking job that the person next you can't get in their car. That will lessen your chance of getting keyed.

<knock on wood> I have never had any vandalism problems with my X. I still do not have one single ding on it, but I do have a couple of minor scratches -- mostly from my wife's ring! :tsk:
This, of course, means that I just jinxed myself and I'll total my car tomorrow! LOL Juan |

well said LemansX5...If you have a problem with me or my driving take it up with me but don't take it out on my innocent car. Even though I drive fairly aggressive I am never careless and I never confront another driver going down the road, unless its one of the sombitches from texas( ) that seem to be migrating northward. On the same subject does anybody feel anger from other drivers in traffic? I have noticed that people are far less apt to let me merge in when there is a trafic delay or as I am pulling out of a drive... I am presuming its the Roundel that irritates them. I usually just keep going and bust a UE or just take the long way around if there are too many jerks. Just curious if this is normal human nature..or normal American behavior or just simple stupid Arkansans...(born and raised here.)..or them aforementioned sombitches(j/k). I have noticed people posting how others will compliment them on their vehicle or ask questions...the only time anyone has asked me about the X was just "Excuse me sir...your vehicle...what kind is it?" When I replied "oh igt's a BMW"... she looked at me like I was a leper and said "oh"..in disgust then drove away? sheesh What a bad rep... |
No vandalism here - assuming that by "vandalism" you mean intentional damage - but I did get Hit and Run this weekend. While a valet was driving my car from the hotel to the lot. Wouldn't have believed it if they hadn't contacted the police - who subsequently made an arrest. But they did.
So it's not vandalism, but disheartening all the same. |

I got keyed on my lexus gs on the trunk. I was so mad
The only time I felt like keying someone else (but didn't) was when I was looking at the new ML at the benz dealer. I parked in the visitor section and went to look at the new ML on the showroom floor. All of sudden a family of like 8 people mostly little kids came into the showroom. They were running around from car to car and I think the parents were looking at the new ML. Anyway, I decided to leave and when I got to my car the family's SUV was parked like inches away from my GS. I new my car was going to have a dent or a scratch cause of the way this idiot family parked. It was true, and my car was hit from one of the doors and the paint was scratched. I was so mad I felt like keying the car but I didn't. I just got in and drove off. Usually, I always park far and away in a crowded parking lot. It's funny you will beat most people to the door anyways. The time it takes to look for a closer parking space and the risk of getting hit/dinged is not worth it. |
