Is it possible to swap cass for CD ?

Today's silly question comes from Central NJ..

Since my X5 has Navi with the cassette player behind the Navi screen, and I haven't used a cassette since about 1991, I was just wondering if there is any way to replace the cassette with a CD player ? It would certainly be a lot more convenient than the CD changer in the trunk too.

I was unable to find anything on realoem that would indicate that this is an option..but I've been wrong before...

THANKS !!

Nope. Not enough space, I am told. Never seen it done. Anyway, who needs CD these days. iPod interface is way to go.

Check this thread for a better option.

See, I drive LONG distances for business and usually bring a book on CD(s) to help pass the time..and until they start making them on MP3, I'm stuck with a CD player hacked into the cassette player..

So, I was hoping for another option..

But thanks for the link.. Looks like a very nice install..

You can easily rip a book from CD to mp3 using any CD burning software. very simple.
