Headlight Baking Experts please Chime in

1) What is the glue like after you place in oven for 15 minutes? I am hoping my first attempt at this is due to the light assembly and not my stupidity. My glue never fully melted, and was very difficult to open. I finally gave up. after reading multiple posts, it seems as the the glue turns to liquid? Mine was more of a dry crumble.

2) I only had one screw to remove, all bulbs are out and the back cover for HID bulb is off.

3) What should I use to pry open? From one of the pics i saw a small screw driver. My proble with this is it seems to distort the Black housing too much.

4) I assume I should start on top, and work around correct?
5) How much time do I have to work with this before it get s too cold again?

I remember me and iop doing this a few months back and he told me after 15 mins, it should be like toothpaste. Didn't actually see it though since my 02 headlights wouldn't open. =(

DocMike,
The glue is suppose to be a little softer but still tacky. Its hould not be powdery. Do not pry as it will break your headlight. Chances are your headlights was one of those late 2002 production headlight that can't be opened.

Mine were 5/02

hey docmike, i had got my '02 lights open from a bodyshop, and they used a special kind of solvent or something like that to open and it worked but they still left pry marks from the screwdriver and it looks horrible so be careful not to break anything. As for the solvent or liquid, i am not sure and the bodyshop dude wont tell me as if its a secret or somethin (well i guess it is) just asshos. So my point is, try a solvent that is for weaking glue sealants and it might be easier, but i doubt it will be easy, GOOD LUCK.
