Just got 20's!

I just replaced my 18" stock wheels with a staggered set of 20" style 87s for my 2006 4.4. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! Makes the X5 look like a new ride! Anyway, what would be the recommended tire pressure? The BMW manual says 32psi, the BMW dealer says 38 psi front, 42 psi rear (seems a bit high). I want to get this right since those Michelins are not cheap to replace. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Don

Ride at 32psi if you don't carry extra weight.....Phil

donnyboy1... any pics?

^^ hey zerochief. Kinda off-topic, but how low did you drop your X? I need mine that low. The Eibach Pro-Kit springs I have just aren't low enough.

Zerochief

Planning on posting a few picts this weekend. Zerochief, the titanium trim you installed looks killer! Aside from the center console being a pain in the *#@ to remove, how tough was it replacing your the trim? Does the old trim simply "snap" out? Also, my X5 has the adaptive xenon headlights already; can I simply upgrade the lens only to get the clear Euro look, or do I have to buy the whole headlight assembly? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm quickly becomming addicted to this forum. Thanks again for the help. Don

It depends on what the tire size is for your 20's. It will say max psi on there. you wanna go about 8 psi below that number. I have 275/40/20 on mine and max is 50 psi...I put 42 in mine.

Don no problem, and you are welcome here. I have done ALL my mods through this website, hence I have become a premier member. The information collected here to assist me is totally worth the $30 donation! Anyways, yes, the center console is a PITA but, its actually not that bad (torx screws hold it in). Follow the step by step instructions from the main page. The other pieces do snap out, however I recommend you use a plastic tool to do it, not metal. Regarding the headlights: depending on the date of manufacturing, they can be opened, cleared and have AEs installed to get the look you want. There are also 4 or 5 articles on the main page that you need to understand.

To be more specific; 275/40/R20 front, 315/35/R20 rear.

Eibach doesn't make anything lower than the Pro-Kit springs which drops it 1.2 from stock. If I can get my car 1 more inch lower without dropping KW V3 Coilover money, I'd be happy.

I also have the staggered set up with the 315 tyres on the rear. My BMW service guys keep my pressure at 40psi on all four tyres. I havent had any problems either.
