No Heat: Dealership Sucks

They changed the blower and the blower regulator.
I am still not getting heat from the front vents. AUTO mode blows out cold air.

I turned off the unit all together and I was just sitting there and It was sounded like a ghost. The car was trying to blow air for a second then would stop. It kept doing this 4-5x. The unit was turned off.

Therefore, is the problem the AC unit?

Yes this is my 2nd thread about it. Dealership refuses to listen to me. They just pick something and replace it and just hand it back to me without testing it.

Have you tried replacing the final stage resistor?

Aimster 11-03-2007 10:16 PM

Yes they replaced a part called "Blower Motor Resistor".

I am assuming that is the final stage resistor.

Same problem here. Front vents suddenly started blowing very cold halfway through the drive home. Wasn't getting a ton of heat from any other vents either. Restarting the engine fixed it for a few minutes...then goes cold again. This is a 2005 with less than 20,000 miles on it...any suggestions on what it might be (already scheduled a dealer appt)?

It turned out the problem was the AC unit in the dash.
Needs to be replaced. Common BMW problem

Thanks for the update. Out of curiousity, was the problem intermittent? Seems to be working fine on the drive to work this morning (ie. I'm getting warm air from the vent as per how I dialed it up on the vent temp control)??

Blower

Do any of you have any idea of the blower motor location?

Aimster 12-01-2007 05:02 PM

What makes you think it is the blower motor?

Does your car make noises when the AC headunit is off?
