IceLink Plus on sale at BestBuy
 

FYI I just bought IceLink Plus (I20-BMW-T) at BestBuy for $179.99 - $30 mail in rebate through 8/6 for a net of $149.99.

I wonder what firmware is installed on the ones at Best Buy? I need to replace my Wife's IceLink with a Plus. I love the Plus.

Whats the diffrent with the plus?

Plus is thier latest and greatest. The most notable, IMO, is the ability to switch between 5 playlists. Also they have added the ability to display tags for song title and artist on the Nav Screen and MID.

The original IceLink only allowed for one playlist so my wife has this mega playlist that has hundreds of songs. Hard to navigate.

The Plus has upgradeable firmware. Thus, it doesn't matter what the ones at Best Buy have installed, as you can flash the new firmware yourself (download the files from the Dension USA website). The files look like MP3 files, and you play them for a few seconds to send them to the IceLink Plus module in your vehicle.

Note that the software to play song titles may not be part of the firmware (it wasn't when I installed mine). There was a separate file (Beta release at the time) which could be installed to play song titles on either the OBC display, head unit, or Nav unit.

When you are doing the above operations, make sure you have upgraded the IPod software as well, as certain firmware versions require specific IPod software versions as a minimum.
