Door lock actuator questions...

Last month it was the rear passenger's side window regulator which went out with a bang, this week it's the driver's side door actuator...

I pulled into my garage, turned off the car, and went to open the door and then... nothing. The interior handle (silver) still works, and is attached to the cable... but it seems the cable is no longer attached to the door actuator.

Here's my question, is this simply something coming detached, or do I need a whole new actuator???

Central locking still works (both with fob and lock button inside)... To get out I have to park, open the window, grab the outside handle and open the door. (I feel like I'm driving an '81 Yugo), this opens the door. I get out, put the key in the door lock, lock the doors, and roll up the window... then I arm the alarm with the fob.

I took the door panel off just to make sure the handle was still attached to the guide cable and it is... I haven't gone far enough to unmount the airbag or the vapor barrier since I'd like to know whether this is something i can re-attached to the actuator, or do I search out a new actuator before gutting the door.

if you're saying that the central locking still works, i think that the actuator is good. i just replaced my driver's door one and it is definitely possible that the cable has jumped its receiver on the actuator.
