Airbag light on

Do to the bonehead move on my part :banghead: of letting my battery run low while working on my X over a 2 day period, after charging, the airbag icon is lit. Any non stealer reset proceedures?

did you charge the battery without disconnecting the battery?Try disconnecting the battery again and connecting it back on after 30 mins.Still, the airbag light shouldnt have come on with low battery? To reset the airbag light you have to go to the dealer!

What kind of work were you doing on it?? Did you remove the front seats?? That will cause the airbag light to come on!

I did remove the front seats. They were reinstalled and everything was ok. I had to remove them again and still it was fine, but later was when the battery got very low. I tried to use a booster pack at first which didn't work. Prior to the booster pack, the electrical systems still worked. After that everything went out. That's when I charged the battery. At first the seatbelt, ABS, and airbag lights stayed on. I took it for a drive and the seatbelt and ABS lights went out, but the airbag light is stil on. It's been a couple of days now. I did not disconnect the batt when I charged it. The plot thickens

As King said,if you remove the seats you have to disconnect the harness and if you didnt disconnect the battery ,the air-bag light will come on!If you charged your battery with out disconnecting it and your ONLY problem is air-bag light on,then consider yourself very lucky that you didnt damage the ECU of your X5!!Just go to the dealer for them to put you air-bag light out........
