use the search button for FSR, that might be the issue on your X..

and welcome to X5World.

i noticed from other post that the fsr only fixes the problem of the fan not working properly. would that also include the reason there is no hot air?

Try different vents.
Does it blow cold air from all the vents or just the front ones?

Mine does the same thing. I use the bottom vents and the upper vents blowing at the windshield to fix the problem.

I know what the problem is. The entire AC unit (headunit) needs to be replaced. Dealership replaced blowers and resistor but that didnt do squat.

that sounds expensive any idea on the cost?

Aimster 11-19-2007 05:00 PM

It probably is expensive. Mine is covered under warranty, but it takes them 2 weeks to fix anything at the warranty shop. Therefore, I've ignored the problem

There is a "fix". Don't use automatic mode.
Just put the heat blowing from the other two vents (not front vents). Car should heat up just fine.

If no heat is blowing from any of the vents, then it is likely another problem.

You could try these guys. Much cheaper than the dealer and it will not need to be coded as it is your unit repaired.

There are also electronically actuated valves, one for driver side, one for passenger, on my 01' part number 64 12 6 900 151, that may have failed or have a bad connections.
