HELP - how do you get the frickin' valve cover off??!!
 

I'm trying to replace my valve cover gasket on my M62 engine. I've removed all 11 of the bolts on the cover (the long front 3 bolts are just loosened - they don't seem to come out).

But I can't lift the cover off!

Can anyone offer any tips? TIA!

did you remove the plastic cover over the coils and remove the coils and remove the 3 or 4 bolts inside? if so the valve cover may just be stuck, it takes alot of force to sometimes to remove but make sure you got all the bolts out so you dont crack the cover.

Here's a diagram. I don't see anything that would cause it to stick. Maybe just heat made the seal stick.
