tuner module

ok, im trying to get satellite radio installed in my 02 4.6, Ive called about getting a later model tuner module that can work wirh satellite radio, before i go and order, is this all im going to need, (desides the sirius stuff of course)

I believe that's all you need. Also, get the right tuner as nav-equipped 4.6is has different tuner module than MID-equipped 4.6is.

Yes. The new tuner module (65-12-6-964-398) and the Sirius kit. There are articles on the Sirius install. Swapping the radio module is a simple 5 minute task. Tip: after you remove the 4 bolts (10mm I think) holding the rear air suspension motor (the "dome"), lift it to the right standing up, there is no need to disconnect anything. Next, on the three braces, just remove the front two nuts (13mm I think) where they come together in the middle. Loosen the other two (right and left) rear bolts enough to rotate the bracing completely out of the way of the electronics tray. Remove the big plastic electronics tray cover. Then remove the 4 phillips screws holding the tray, pull up, remove one small retaining bolt, swap the radio out, and reverse. Enjoy!

Be sure to not kink the battery wires. Check out the Sirius article by IFlyX5.

Check with Pacific BMW as well. Ask for Luis (800) 909-7278. They have better prices than Crevier, most of the times.
