What type of bulb does the x5's sidemarker have? 2004(facelift)?>

This the bulb you need if you are trying to get rid of egg yolk from sidemarkers.

Right on. The rear turn signal bulbs have a round connector, the fronts have a rectangular connector. Usually they are sold with the specific designation "front" or "rear". Unlike some cars, they are not interchangeable.
