Brembo rotor upgrade

3 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys,

I have a 2001 X5 3.0i with 182,000+ miles and it was time for new brakes. I found these rotors from Brembo and I put EBC pads on "red stuff". Just wanted to say thanks for the DIY Brakes thread, it helped out alot.

Nice   I need brakes also, how do they perform?

Nice! Lets hear soon how you like them.

Nice work!! Those Brembo rotors look neat.

I've been running those rotors on a 3.0i sport for well over a year. Really great performance and they have maintained their looks by not having the top hats corrode.

I went for a less aggressive pad as feared that cold performance would be too greatly compromised by running a fast street pad.

So far I have been very impressed with the brakes, I bedded them yesterday. I will let you know after a week of driving how they really preform. I drive between 150-250 miles per day for work, needless to say this week will be awesome!

Here the link from where I bought them:

i think i am going to buy these, i love the cross-drilled look. Can you get them in slotted too? I heard cross drilled can crack more easily.

Also I have heard some people have bad experience with the brembo rotors on this vehicle?

Can these rotors be turned? I think stock rotors usually cannot be turned?

Thanks!

I swore it was a steal but....damm, just comparing their rotor pricing you paid.
I paid $240 for a set of OEM rotors shipped to my door this fall when I did my brakes.....I just prefer solids for street applications.

I was looking for a set of rotors and pads that would better fit my driving habits. Frankly, Brembo is engineered to stop high spirited drivers like me. Paying a few extra bucks for performance is nothing.

all 4 rotors? I am looking at front/rear brembo rotor mintex pad and sensors kit on ebay for 360 + shipping. i would get slotted but that will cost more. Wondering if that is a good deal.
