Looks awesome

One mod to consider for the future is the M steering wheel. It will definately complete the overall look.

motordavid 08-08-2005 09:21 PM

Will, Your X is Titz! I love the wheels and the fogs.

This is quite a nice X5. Great job!

PersonaNonGrata 08-08-2005 10:39 PM

Well done! You've done some nice mods. I am a big fan of the color matched grilles. I had mine painted Steel Gray to match. I think it looks very good. Jet Black X5's look so damn sweet... when they're clean. I'm too lazy to get another black car though.

I also second UCrewX5's suggestion to get an M steering wheel. It's the best mod I have done.

dronell19 08-08-2005 10:54 PM

Hi Will

Car looks great. All the mods complement each other nicely.

I do have a coupla questions, though. Seems like you've taken the headlight apart and took out the round, doughnut-like pieces from each the Xenon and high-beam housing, as well as the amber part from the turn signal.

How hard is that to do? Is there a risk of breaking anything? Did you have to bake open the headlight? Any condensation issue? Thanks a lot, sorry for the many questions. Again, ur car looks

Beautiful Looking X5!!!!

Your X5 Is Looking Great, Congratulations!!!
Now If U Don't Mind The Asking, I Just Purchased My X5 And I'm Looking For Mods That I Can Apply To It, Do You Have Any Recommendations Is A 2005 4.8is If You Look At My Profile You'll See It. I'm More Or Less Looking To Do Titanium Trim Interior, Euro Clear Style Headlights And Other Things To The Way It Looks Mainly Not So Much To The Performance Of It. Thanx In Advance I'll Appreciate The Input.

What angel eyes did you use. They look good.

AutoXer 08-08-2005 11:49 PM

Looks great. I love black cars!

Very nice........where did you get those exhaust tips at? Are they replicas of the 4.8's ???

wnharris3 08-09-2005 01:19 AM

WOW, lots of responses in a short time! I guess i did something right with my X! OK, lots of questions to get to......
M steering wheel! What do i have to do to make this work!!!! I saw a new hub or something, someone give me details, i'd LOVE to do it!
Dronell19 - Taking the headlight apart is NOT easy. Very labor/skill intensive and you can mess up a good headlight VERY easily. No condensation issues as i went crazy with the clear silicon from home depot.
Fulantino - You have a 4.8, if you'd like to trade cars, i'd be down. haha. If your into music, the iPod your car is AWESOME! my favorite mod on the car, second to my rims.
pepatrick - I used a set designed for either the e36/46 3 series off ebay. They fit pretty well, needed a little work and trimming, but overall i was more than happy with the results.
MrAirbags - I got the exhaust tips form a local shop for about $50 each. Another member posted had them and i kinda jocked his idea. They are made by ractive and i'm sure the model number can be found on here. They are a little smaller than 4.6/8 size, but still look nice.
THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE FEEDBACK! All the modding pays off when people actually realize what you have done to the car.

You'll need the M steering wheel, of course, and a round airbag for it. Most of us have used the M steering wheel from the E39 Sport package because it has black stitching rather than the ///M colored stitching on the M3/M5 steering wheel. They are otherwise identical. That's all you need.

Check prices with Crevier BMW, Pacific BMW, and Circle BMW. I think I paid $325 for my M steering wheel a while back.

Damn! I had my hopes up for a second there. Any tricks/tips as to how to NOT mess up a good headlight? I really really wanna do this real bad.

HamannE53 08-09-2005 04:26 PM

i'd like to ask the same as dronell

e36 08-13-2005 11:08 PM

bump!

i also am about to takle my pops x5 headlights. i am not afraid of baking them as i have done it on a lincoln LS successfully. bbbbbuttttt, how in the world did you get those angel eyes so perfect? one lense is bigger than the other... are they both the same size angels eyes or are they different?

thanks,

mike

Looks great, man. I'm thinking of doing something with the front turn signal indicators... basically I want to get rid of the orange border - nothing fancy. Since I'm sure you went through all the options before doing yours, what would you suggest?

DINANM3 08-14-2005 01:58 PM

Looks great but i would go for the 4.6is front and rear bumper spoilers

I have the same question. I don't have any amber showing on the back lights, but lots on the front. Easiest answer?
