At wits end (check side lights warning)
So i've been getting the check side lights warning and yet all my lights are in working order. My brother says he's heard of the angel eye mod "jlevi" could be the culprit, but i dont know why as they are not sidelights and they are also working.. Guess my question is what bulbs consist of the side lights and is it possible to get the warning and the bulb still work, maybe a dirty connector?
Any insight would be appriciated before i go and change every bulb. |
Side lights? Maybe your side markers? This sounds stange...How did you tap your AE's? Did you run them thru your fogs?

One of my major complaints with BMWs is the GD light warning function. Every BMW I've owned constantly gives me false warnings. In fact, my 02 X5 tells me every day that my rear license plate light is out... it is not, nor has it ever been. If usually is related to some corrosion on the light terminals (either the bulb or the socket). It is usual worst when it is humid/raining out.
I've simply given up trying to stop the warning lights. |

You may be right about the dirty connector. Try removing the bulb and lightly sanding the contact points on the socket and bulb, also check the socket wires. There are aerosol sprays to enhance electrical connections that may be tried while you've got the lens cover off. Good luck

ok guys thought id update you on the issue here. turns out the check side light warning WAS coming from jlevis angel eyes predetor ice. the LED lights did light up yet was triggering the check side light warning it must be some resistor issue?
well problem is now gone as i wet back to my OEM setup.. |
I had this issue with the driver's side front. It kept burning the bulb contact in the holder. I would take it out, clean everything and within 2 weeks it would be back again along with the fast flash of the turn signals. Last time I coated the respective bulb contacts with high temp. CONDUCTIVE grease containing graphite. I'm now into the third month so it is better but only time tell if it is a really long time repair.
