Ohh Boy...Have to get frt axels and sway bar links fixed...
 

2001 3.0 with 95K miles on it. Bought it mid last year with 85K on it. No warranty and when I got my oil changed today at a local mechanic, he was looking over the car (front end noises when hitting bumps at slow speeds). Final word was that I need to get my front axles replaced as well as the sway bar links.

~$1400 in parts and labor.

Am I getting hosed?

I was quoted $2600 by the $tealer for the same job 2 weeks after I purchased our CPO '01. I mentioned not a red cent and lawsuit in the same sentence and asked how CPO inspection and the subsequent 3 "service visits' I had had up to then had missed these problems. $tealer could not answer those questions with anything except offer to make things good for free.

Sway bar link is causing the noise..I'd get a second opinion on the axels....
