Movin' on up to a 4.8is
After selling my Individual Carbon Black 4.4i and looking at ML's, Q's and Cayenne's I easily settled on a 2006 4.8is Imola/Black. This is my second BMW and now I can see why it is so hard to change brands. As for this new one, some of you may recall an earler thread re. Chromed Style 168's on Imola. Well I proceeded with the purchase after viewing the vehicle. The dealer offered me older 5 spokes, but I decided to keep the bling and make a decision when the snow begins to melt. I'll get the truck in a week or two and pass on some photos. Aside from the rims and the previous smoker/owner the only other negative is the silly extendible load floor. This thing just further reduces the cargo space and offers me no value.

Congrats! and welcome to 4.8is club.
I had seen a imola 4.8is with chrome style 168 back in late 2006 driven by a young female, and took some pics as well of the wheels. How many times do you think you will need the extra 2" of load floor space during your ownership? Its also not too difficult to remove it. |
2006 4.8is Imola/Black...our cars are twins!
Congrats! |

Congrats Carbon Schwarz! I do think the chromed 168's are not all that bad. Sure it's bling but it's a good kind of bling. You did well not trading them in for the 87's. I agree about the extendable load floor taking up valuable cargo space. I had it in my very first X5 and never ordered it again in my second and third. |
Too bad we live so far away...imagine how sweet the picture would look of 3 Imola/Black 4.8's next to each other:bmw:
