Beware when you get angel eyes from ebay, you always get what u pay for. Get it from umnitza.com, they carry best quality AEs or get the projector53, check how it looks on my X, it also comes in white color, but i prefer OEM look so its your choice.

to install them i think you'll need to be able to open your headlights, people with 2003's have said that it's difficult to open. maybe your build date is early enough before they started using that glue. If you do, (or you dont want to go through the trouble of opening and wiring everything yourself) you could just get a complete assembly replacement

rastafai is correct. Production date of 10/02 and beyond uses a different kind of glue and its a pain to open and you will end up ruining your headlights. Just go with the projectors53, of course, if you want to go that route.

Check the date code located on the headlight. It looks like this:
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...datecodeHL.jpg
This one reads 08/2001. There is one on the top rubber stripping and there
is another on the actual headlight housing in the back (the important one!).
To open them up you must have 10/2002 or before.

so there are none made from bmw?

not for prefacelift 2000-2003. For the facelift ones, u cannot even buy the just the rings, you have to buy the headlights.

I had one headlight replaced under warranty because it was fogging up & the date reads 08/2003 :(, is that mean it cannot be opened?? The other one is dated Jan. 02.

I wouldn't buy anything from Umnitza...don't buy your AE's there... Get them some where else like European Auto Source..
