vibration...

ok my day started somewhat warysome today...

couple of days ago it was about 60+ degrees F. Nice weather...so i washed my car...and parked it in the garage and left it there since weather got harsh again.....and i decided to drive the VW to classes and work.

Today it was sunny...and i was happy to get back behind the wheel of the X .

Initially the car was backed into the garage....today when I started it...left it to warm up then once i put it in drive it did not budge. I accelerated a bit, heard a sound coming from the wheels.then the car worked..
I figured the brakes? wheels? must have frozen? or something like that...the car stayed in the garage for 7+ days...while outside was in the 20's ...

Ok on my way to work..once i hit about 50 mph there was a strong vibration in the wheel and a noize at the front wheels...I listened to it for a while to try and pin point the location of noise and vibration...but could not make it out...My direction was fine...no leaning towards left or right...i stopped at a gas station to fuel and looked at the car..nothing out of ordinary...once on the road again 50+ the vibration from the wheel was nearly gone...untill it was completely gone...along with the noize...

Any opinions? that noise was clearly from something that was stuck together...

I will drive tomorow to see if it still vibrates and most likely make an appointment to a dealer and see if they have any takes on this...

ok...while driving this morning things were going smoothly...once i hit the brakes for morning traffic the wheels along with the steering wheel were pretty much shaking...after driving normal for about 2 miles it went away untill i used the brakes....I can't wait to open her up and see what is wrong...too cold outside tho...

i have the same thing, press the brake and put it in neutral. you wont hear it.. but then turn the wheel and you will feel and hear it again. it has to do something with the power steering. check your liquids etc. i havnt had time to look at my =\

thanks...it hasn't even crossed my mind but it must be something of that sort now that i think about it...If it was mechanical it would be on non-stop...not when brakes are applied....will check it out and let u know

Well I am following up on this after i have fixed my problem...

Jacked the car up today...i knew it was from the driver's side break since its red given the wear...compared to the other wheels...

While pressing and depressing the brake pedal, i noticed that everytime after I depressed the brake the disk was barely moving (car was in N) ...

So i took it apart and cleaned the rust that builded up...

above is the cylinder ...once i hit the brakes the cylimder never went back up, so my driver's side wheel was vibrating from time to time...

Happy to report no more :D
