Doing the fill up and divide method (actual values, vs. usually wrong values that the computer provides), I seem to get about 17 mpg city/hwy mixed driving condition consistently. (2005 3.0 with 45k miles on it.) I drive regularly, no hard accelerations and no babying it either.

'06 4.4 running '91 octane and I'm averaging 18.2 mpg with mixed city/hwy driving. As long as you don't constantly reset the computer its on par with the calculated value.

i averaged 24 mpg.. ac on and off and 50-53 mph.....
around 70 degree |
I find the computer is always shooting high. Upon comparison with actual mileage driven divided by gallons burned (obtained on fillup), I find the computer is always overstating by at least .5 using numbers from a full tank (so over 100 miles as previously mentioned).

accurate, imo. |
My display keeps displaying 15.1 mpg (over the last two months), and I am measuring 17 mpg, so the computer (if that is what we mean by it) is definitely not showing the right value in my case.

Today i did a run on my 3.0L Diesel and got 35mpg.... Steady 70. Think that not bad. Still looking at getting a bit better. Maybe turn heating and lights off. :stickpoke

I use the miles divide by tank fill up and in winter I average 14 mpg(50% city, 50% highway). In the summer I can get it up to 18 mpg easily. Accelerating pretty hard both times.
