Welcome to X5world!

Instead of a switch which will cause you to reset everything everytime you hook back up again, how about a simple battery tender?

is it the original battery? if so, time for a new one. i leave my X for a month at a time and have no problem.

also, it is trivial to test the amount of drain. of course the alarm is always draining a tiny bit but shouldn't be enough to totally discharge a healthy battery in two weeks.

i've been told that once a battery has been completely drained, it's not going to hold a charge as well and should be replaced. so if you're new battery has gone dead, you should replace it.

the new battery could have had a bad cell in it too, or wasn't fully charged when you bought it.

Dead Battery too

I have the same problem to. I bought the BMW charger a couple of years ago. If the X sits for a week the battery is dead. I have a new battery.

i thought of doing this too - would be good for someone who parks their car at the airport or something for extended periods of time.

I have battery tender, but not sure how much daily charging sufficient to maintain (its only 1 amp). I just got a new battery and dont want to risk killing it.

I guess driving the car once or twice a week at minimum should keep it going.
