2004 x5 questions
 

As I am comtemplating to maybe buying a 2004 cpo (4.4) I have a couple of questions. Does it come with BMW Assist? ( i am looking at premiumpkg, sport, premium sound,19 wheel, comfort seats but no nav)
Also is blue tooth an easy retrofit? is it expensive? any other differences between 05 and 04?

Help is appreciated.

All (premium pkg) models built after Oct '03 have Assist and Bluetooth...It might even be without any pkgs, but I have a '04 and I have no idea how either of them work...I dont think I deserve an X!...

No big deiff on '05 and '04 except I think ALL '05's come with Panorama, and leather is standard...Not sure what else..They are probably going to keep the changes minimal until the '07's are out.... :bow: :band: :mmm:

I have a 10/03 '04. It had Assist but I ripped it out and replaced it with VR/BT. The first generation of Assist didn't have all the features that the current one has (I think they added stolen car tracking and something else). It also didn't have BT but you may be able to replace it with a Ass/BT ;) module but you'll lose the VR.

no they don't. I have a sept '04 x5 4.4i w/premium and it doesn't have bluetooth.

Bluetooth and Assist started coming together for X5s built from Oct 2004 on 2005 models. It was only assist till then. Adding Bluetooth module on pre-Oct 2004 built meant removing assist.
