OEM running boards: cleaning

Does anyone know how to clean the OEM running boards? Mine are covered with stains.

Do you mean the aluminum part? Try Barkeeper's Friend powder (avail. in the cleaning section of most supermarkets and Bed Bath & Beyonds).

Use mothers mag and alum polish with a microfiber cloth, it works perfect. You might want to remove the black naps for a full clean and put them back, otherwise you have to go in between them.
