hello everyone, my name is Vitaliy and i'm in Chicago, i found this Forum yesterday while doing some major research about X5..... e53 is my favourite offroad incapable SUV ;)
i'll be looking for X5 for my parents because they are planning to buy one in the future(hopefully 03 4.6).

Right now imy ride is 03 Maxima SE

thanks guyz, so far my biggest consern about X5 was fuel economy and reliability, and after reading a lot here i realized that its comparable to what i'm getting in my Max(the way i drive)..... and as for reliability, the only thing that stuck to my mind is hydrolocking, anything else common to 4.6?

~16 gallons 240 miles 80% city....... aint pretty

Potential transmission problems..... water pump.... alternator... Mass Airflow Sensor.... window regulators... $$$$$

It can be a bit if a risk buying an X5 without an extended warranty. But drive one and you will love it!!

The 4.6is milage sucks because it is too fun to drive slowly! I have tried to drive to attain maximum milage but that lasts about 1 day. Then, I remember I bought the 4.6is for performance not milage!!

thanks for insight..... no way we're buying something that has such expensive parts without extended warranty, i have 3 yeah extended for my MAX and thank god didn't have to use it yet (over a year now).....

In Chicago its pointless to to try and save fuel, way too often TRAFFIC. and why think about gas if you can think about having fun

accorsing to wikipedia 4.6 = N52B25 ..... i hope thats correct, how much does it cost, because i heard that S62 was like 30K or something
