Red or Silver?
 

If I ever want to add the front skid plate to my X, which do you think would look better Red or Silver? (photoshoped the front)

I would say Red... looks like you are lovin ur X again... ;)

They both look good but personally I'd vote for the silver. It ties in better with the kidney grilles and rims.

Red IMO - silver looks better on silver or black.

I would go for silver to match your step bar !

Red, the minute you look at the front end, you see the hood which is red then you need something to pull your eyes down to the skid plate which is red.

Silver will somewhat make it stand out more...just from a designers' perspective

Have you see the pictures of the X6? It looks bad from the rear because of the grey/silver skid plate (or whatever it is) that is has there.

Also, the aero kit is colored to match the car. This skid plate reminds me of that. I would say that your choices are really red or black (but red would still be the first choice).

I will order from Morristown this week as soon as I get enough opinions on the color but I am leaning towards RED (dont know why). Thanks for the replies.

Red! I want this part too, but with my black X, I am not too sure..

I forgot to ask you. Why don't you get the aero kit instead? It looks better and neither of them are really functional items...

well, i considered that too but long time ago. the 4.6is kit cost around $700 and geting it painted is about $300, so its a $1k mod. i dont drive my x that often anymore since i mostly spend on modding the 530i. for $150 and $50 paint, i think its nice to have something new on the x but not too expensive. i already spent a lot on the x 2 years ago. thanks anyway.

I'd say go with red - i was actually trying to buy the red on tan combo when I went looking for my X... funny cuz silver wasnt an option.. but i love my titanium X..

I think the 4.6 kit will be my very last mod to my X.. it is a high price tag mod..

red looks good. i was wondering where did you find a skid plate like that other than the dealership? I really think the dealership parts are way overpriced.

red, the silver would work on a silver or black car. It IMO doesn't look right with the silver skid plate, go for the red....

silver titenium is most visable one on the road.( if you persueu safety ) ..FAA statistic

sorry this is cofusing one, I missed we are talking colour of the car , not a skid plate. Of course the same - matching colour is better looking one..!:rofl:

Wow! I really like the looks of the skid plate and just looked into picking one up myself. It sounds like the dealer gets the plate in a primer color and it's up to you to paint it. Do you know if an aluminum skid plate is available? I have a white on white 4.4i and think the aluminum look would be perfect!
