MB owners-(C & E class)-Your thoughts?
Yep, one of the only brands I havent looked at AT ALL. Not for any particular reason, it just never really crossed my mind. Have seen some OK deals recently on a few C classes. Still 95% set on the E90, but have never even been in a C or small E class.. Too much? Too expensive? reliability issues? Just shoot if you know anything about them. Cheers!

I had an '05 E55 and 12k miles of no problems....outside of the $250 scheduled service (read: oil change). Other than that I had no problems with the car. The drive dynamic seats are nice and the massage feature was good for the ride home from work.

If you are thinking of a W211 than seriously think about the E320CDI. I have the pleasure/honour of driving bothe the X5 and E320CDI and can say both have admirable qualities. The E320 CDI however is truly an amazing piece of engineering. 369 lb of torque at 1800rpm, extra urban mpg of 39 and urban 28. 780 miles on one tank and absolutely no smoke on startup, no clatter or smell. According to MBUSA, 0-60 mph at 6.6s! If you're in a non carb state, buy one or we wait until ULSD comes here.
The interior appointments are the best I have ever seen with close competition with Audi. Hope this helps. I can't speak for the C class but did find it mildly "plasticky" and lacking in real refinement IMHO. Jay |

You can get one for the price range you're looking at. E55, E500, E320 all the same. I would also recommend looking at the CDI version as well. Check out http://www.mbworld.org They have some pretty good info over there |
My wife's current car is a 2003 E320. Nice car. A little more interior plastic than I wanted, but still quite nice. Good acceleration for a 6 cylinder. Nice smooth ride. Good trunk space for a small sedan.
I would be happy to answer any specific questions. |
You can get C230 Kompressor which is a 1.8 Liter Four-cylinder with a supercharger.
But, you are better off getting an E90 325i for the same price (roomier and you get a smooth in-line 6-cylinder) Quote:
