oh MD....

I swear I'm about to pull my hair out. Would you believe nothing has been done. And since Tues I've been the middleman doing the handholding all the way up to now....

Here's how Friday is going sofar

I called up WD this morning - * We have received the additional info and the analyst will call the service dept upon further review*

Fast forward 1 PM - I call the SA. SA advises no one has called him back

I call WD and inquire about the delay . Spoke with a rep and customer service advised me that she would leave a note on the analyst desk to followup with the service dept and she would personally call me back from her lunch break. I also had left a VM on the analyst line for him and left him my contact #.

3:30 rolls around - Got a supervisor on the line. She advises they never got any additional paperwork from the service dept. Please have the service dept refax the additional info over.

So we're now back to square one...
And I'm just stuck in the middle, between he says vs. she says........

Oh, The Days of Our Lives....

Chef,
I am not defending WD...it sounds like a Friday afternoon-no one's-in-the-office-to-authorize-anything bs...
I would lean on them,(WD), about their lack of timely customer service, when the dust settles.

But, back at the ranch, your current SA, (I love these fookin titles for a service writer), is not helping your cause.
For whatever reason, he seems to not care whether WD or Walmart coverage exists and, might cover some or all
of your work. As your wrote:

"3:30 rolls around - Got a supervisor on the line. She advises they never got any additional paperwork from the
service dept. Please have the service dept refax the additional info over."

He is either short sighted and of the very common ilk out there in Stlr land that think any 3rd party warranty sucks, and/or he just wants to jerk you around or simply does not care.

If it was my car, and driveable, I'd drive it outta there in a heartbeat and find another stlr, or good indy.
My "next" trip to a real BMW stlr will be only if I ever buy another BMW. And, I wouldn't take my WD covered
car to a BMW stlr on a bet, but that's jes' me.
GL, Chef...

Call BMW NA....Tell them about the horrible service that SA has been giving you, along with everything else you have described..

Thank you to the supervisor over at WD.
All that pushing and prodding.
Everythings been approved ....

MD, as big as Gotham city is, there is only 1 or 2 dealers I would bring it to....and I've been to all of them.

I have a great Indy for tuning and mechanical, but he does not have a MODIC which helps when dealing with my *what I though was a easy PDC gremlin*. I still believe it's a easy PDC gremlin as well *instead of their whole wiring harness sitting on exhaust issue*, but at least they dealt with other things which I knew was coming up on dues times anyhow.

This all started with a taillight, and that I ended up buying OOP.
For those with taillight issues, check out the thread stated by Quicksilver..........in me research, I believe there is a new manufacture making the tails

HTH,

CW - glad things worked out. When I had my WD, never had a story like yours. Just a FYI: Next time you get "stuck in the middle", do a 3 way call will all parties on the line and make sure the other 2 know how rediculous it is for you to have to play this role. Should be a slam dunk to get things taken care of!!

Chef, would you care share to us the BMW dealer you went to?

AtomiX 03-26-2008 03:57 PM

going through it now

Wish i'd read this thread before taking my car to the dealer.

I've had good experiences with WD on previous repairs - 1 at indy for replacement of the AC fan. No drama, in and out. The other at Darien BMW for a transfer case problem. The SA at Darien worked with WD, though I did have to jump in a few times to push WD on the claim. It was a >$4000 job, and WD paid it in full. The SA was actually pleasantly surprised.

On to my current situation - i took it to port chester BMW, because they're able to give me a loaner. I brought it in for door lock working intermittent, cluster (dead pixel), and shuddering on hard braking. SA was willing to work with WD. Expecting the same from my experience at Darien, it wasn't to be.

I was made aware of the labor hour + parts cost differentials. PC will not install parts that's not from them, and their labor hours are higher than what WD is quoting (from Alldata).

I cancelled the cluster job (will take that to indy instead), since BMW OEM is >$650, and WD can get it for around $350.
I've to pay $160 oop for new control arms. There's a 1.75hr labor discrepency. WD is not covering the tax either.

At this point, I've asked the SA to gather and provide verification on the BMW labor hours, as after speaking with WD, they said they'll adjust if the verification's approved (seems a bit open ended). I'll also chase up why tax is not covered.

Moral of the story, I still endorse WD (i got my money's worth thus far), nothing against PC BMW, overall service is positve, but it's just circumstantial under different policies. Find a good indy to work with instead so there's less chance for red tape.
