That was a complete fabrication.

1) It doesn't have 300 horsepower, it has 282 (4.4's after 2002 had 290 & 2004 had 315)
2) 0-60 is NOT in 6.5 seconds, more in the high 7's.
3) xDrive began being offered in 2004 which was far superior to the previous AWD system.
4) KBB on that car is between 14-16K
5) 2000 is perhaps the worst model year of the X5 IMO. Nearly every first model year BMW has 'issues'.
6) A 4.4 and 4.6 do not look alike.
7) 4.6 wasn't even available till 2002.

In closing, pass this up. Go for a 2004+ BMW and GET IT WITH A WARRANTY.

Couple eBay notes:

- never trust a seller that doesn't take the time to proof read an ad.
- never trust a seller who gets numerous specifications wrong, these specs are available all over the place (google: 2000 BMW X5 specifications)
- never trust a seller that states "3/4 MILLION in sales" with automotive sales, that isn't a lot and claiming that just shows how shady the seller is.
- never drop 10 large on a seller with 52 sales
