Considering purchase of 2004 X5 4.4i, your thoughts pls?

Here's the run down...

2004 w/ a couple months of warranty left
All 4 major packages (Prem, Sport, Cold W, Rear Climate)
Nav + DSP
under 45,000 miles
Small sunroof (a negative)
Curb rash on 2 rims
Some bumper scratches
Haven't seen maintenance history yet... supposedly had oil changes more frequently than every 15,000 miles

What's a fair price? I will have to have the vehicle transported as it's over half way across the country.
Besides missing out on the panoramic sunroof and bluetooth (2005+ ?), anything else I'm missing here?

Thanks in advance!

Good condition, Private Party on KBB shows around $31,000.
Seems high to me. I'm thinking mid $20's would be more fair... but welcome comments...

This sounds like a early 2004, by mid year they had the larger sunroof better bluetooth, not sure when they made changes to the engine?

Given the mid year changes I would suggest that pricing should be based on a 2003 model. I also wonder if you would be better off with a mid year 2004.

Is this a dealer sale?

You should plan on getting extend warrantee coverage from BMW.

Hope this helps

Good luck.

It has the N62 Valvetronic engine.

I believe it has the BMW Assist module, not the combo Assist / Bluetooth, so there's a cost if I want bluetooth...

Private Individual sale, so if I wanted an extended maintenance (over $3000 I think?) I would have to have them buy it from BMW as they are the original owner. I'm not too worried about repairs as I have a 1999 540i w/ 135k which I've done the vally pan gasket, intake manifold gasket, water pump, thermostat, valve cover gaskets, control arms, alternator and other items. Parts aren't cheep, but at least I'm not paying $100 / hr.

This is a what's it worth to you kinda thing. The BMW warranty may run between 4K and 5K. If your in Ohio better consider Warranty Direct. Use the search feature to find out about the details.

Not sure that's true. My '04 is a July 2004 production (so late production) and has both the small roof and no BT

i think you should get extended warranty on it if you do get it.

find out the build date. my 04 3.0 build 06/04 has the panaroof but no bluetooth. came with premium and sport packages. and got it in Nov for $26,000 at an auction.

mid to high 20's is about right.
