All,
I had the same terrible rattling you all describe. When stopped at a light, or idling, there is an embarrassing rattling noise that comes from under the car. When in park no rattle, then in reverse holding brake it rattles again. I recently had the below parts put in, and now, no rattle!!! DISA Valve 11617544805 $242.25 Exhaust Bracket18317502867 $20.10 Good Luck! |
I have an extreme rattling sound while in drive and with my brake pressed. If the car is in neutral or park, the sound goes away. The rattling is so bad that interior pieces in my car start to make noise as well. For example, the door panels, center console, and fixture above start to make a noise that's audible and embarrasing. At this point I'm thinking it could very well be the motor mount, but it's an expensive experiment to figure out. :dunno:

I think my Disa valve is broken too...
There is no sound when idling, but if i rev the engine a bit, there is a rattle/crackling sound coming from the top of the engine on the drivers side... Ill post a video clip later and see if you guys think it is the disa.. Is it a easy screw loose and replace operation..? Anything i must beaware of, or which needs to be lined up or adjusted afterwards.? |
Here is a video clip of the sound the engine makes..
MOV01508 - Vox You can hear the ratteling when i rev up the enginge.. What do you think..? Is it the DISA.?? |
This rattle has returned to mine, but mine really sounds like a loose heat shield. Shop last week found a missing bolt in my exhaust bracket and replaced it, but I still have the rattle.
|
Sorry to hear that dwag....
It's not exactly easy either, to find out where the various sounds are coming from.. Did you check my clip..? Do you recognize the sound from it.? |
No, mine does not sound like that. Mine is just like what is mentioned above - rattles (sometimes) at idle when in gear and in reverse, but once you give it gas or put it in Park, it seems to go away.

update on mine - I ended up replacing the motor mounts and all of the interior noise has gone away. Not too costly of a fix either...200 bucks.
