check gas cap warning??
what causes this?
how can I get the code to quit going off; signaling?? Thank you very much for your time, Chad Hidalgo |
It is caused by the gas cap being loose, or being cross-threaded and not sealing properly.
If you take the gas cap off and put it back on, the light should reset by itself after awhile. If it doesn't, see your dealer. |
Cheapest diagnosis is to order a new gas cap for ~$15 and see if that fixes the issue. There is some type of gasket in the cap that goes bad over time.
If you are under warranty, take it to the delaer. If not, order the cap and do it yourself - dealer ended up charging me around $140 to diagnose and replace the cap. |
