PLEASE HELP! FIRST TIME BUYER!!
 

i had an E39 528i, i love BM's, but the amount of electrical problems (eg ABS, traction, Sensors tec) started to get a bit ridiculous.

X5 are my ideal cars.
Unfortunately i can not afford the latest models.

I just need to know which X5's have the least problems 2001 - 2003??

Has anyone had any good experiences with these cars, where they've not been virtually throwing money out the window??

For the 2001-2003 models, the 2003 are going to be most reliable. Late 2003 preferably, although I had 0 problems with my early 2003. You can get 2004-2006 too for not that much more.
But, it would be best if you added an extended warranty. The price will get way out of control after 75k miles.

I bought it new in 2003 and sold it in early 2007 with 44,000 mi. or so. No problems at all, but I would not own it out of warranty.
