I probably would not install the rear mud flaps, but it's keeping the rear bumper clean enough that it's still debatable for me, even til this day. The X looked so nice with the fat 285s (without the rear flaps) - the rear flaps tend to hide those fatties.

i wouldn't have spent the money for the novelty of the angelibrights. had a few issues with it, messes with fm reception, and you can find something similar on ebay for a third of the price now.

I regret putting in the iPod & Dension Ice Link

I thought an iPod would be great in the car. Saw them on sale one day and picked one up (a 4th gen 40GB clickwheel).
Ordered the Dension IceLink and installed everything.
1) I had so much alternator whine that i couldn't use it
2) finally got the whine down to a bearable level but can still hear it in quiet passages of music. solution: listen to more rock, less jazz ;)
3) maneuvering through thousands of songs on the radio or steering wheel is effectively impossible and requires way too much attention. must just select a play list and leave it.
4) finally, even with the whine, the sound is not great. don't know if that's the iPod's fault or the Dension but the quality sucks compared to a CD. the songs are ripped at 160MBPS so they should be good.

so the overall verdict is: i wouldn't do it again and would gladly take my money back from the IceLink and iPod if I could.

I got the AFE cold air intake, I don't regret it much cause I got it used off Ebay but I think it's pretty useless, I don't see any improvement with it installed.

im not sure if that's an isolated case...lots of people have the dension ice with ipod here...i myself dont have one but for a while really craved and wanted it so bad...now, i have a cd changer and that's enough for me. good thing I didn't do that mod then...

That is an EASY solution! Each BMW car is different, and static sound is stronger on some cars, all you need is a filter from EAS, or ground the ipod wire to the chasis. I had the same problem on me E46 and solved it. EAS sells it for $14 i think. I got one, never used, but i misplaced it somewhere.

EDIT: When i installed my DICE adapter on my X, i thought i would need the filter, but i never had the problem.

The only mod I did was removing the air bag stickers, no cost and no regret.

I was thinking about doing the Ipod Ice system but with less than 12 mths left, its not worth it. Guess I regret not doing the Ipod Ice system sooner.
