Update...Intermediate levers and rockers
2.5 weeks - no car.
Warning to all '05 4.4i owners... If your car was manufactured in December of 2004, you're in for some serious fun! 16 Intermediate levers are being replaced as we speak... And (bonus), they discovered that all of the rockers needed replacing as well...another defect that BMW was aware of and fortunately checked for while the car was in for service. They say I may have the car back by end of next week. Not the happiest of BMW owners at this point... |
I'm glad they're working on it for you though I know it sucks to not have your ride for almost 3 weeks. I hope they won't take as long on mine.
|
Keep your chin up. The car will run like a swiss watch when you get it back. Give your dealer a courtesy call to ask him if they call look over the whole car to see if there is anything else that needs work while they have it then when you get it back you won't need to take it to the dealer for a year.
|
I had mine done a few weeks ago too. Mine is a 2006, I would have thought they had solved the issue by the last model year.

JCN83,
Did you buy your X5 new or CPO? fahost |
CPO...
I'm thinking about asking them to extend the new car warranty (?)... |
Stuff like this IS covered under the CPO warranty, the most you have to pay is a $50 deductible.
|
Maybe tomorrow?!
SO - After almost three full weeks in the shop...I MAY get the X back tomorrow. They're keeping it overnight so they can do one more "cold start" with it.
Fingers crossed. I hope none of you have to go through this process - major pain in the arse! |
