Angel eye kit - headlight retrofit??

Hi guy's...
I want to change my "ordinary" headlights to the angel eye look. I have a x5-03 and would like to have a complete kit! Not just the rings...

I'm not that technical on cars so I figured changing the whole thing probably would be the easiest...

What kit do you recommend - that doesn't cost too much!

Thanks...

actually, its better for you to replace the whole headlight. The reason why is because any headlights manufactured after 10/02 is a royal pain to open. I suggest get projectors53 like on my signature. Run search and you will see my galleries. Thanks!

Yes, that is what I want to, change the whole headlight. I bet it's less complicated and easier to mount...

Where can I buy Projectors53 ???

umnitza.com or jlevistreetwerks.com. the options are:

1. halogen without CCFL AE (already comes with AE, but halogen)
2. HID Xenon without CCFL AE ($199)
3. HID Xenon with CCFL AE ($$199 and $179 extra)

Thanks a million for the info but WICH one do I choose? I don't know what CCFL AE means...

I'm kinda a newbie on this topic....

I'm not exactly sure what CCFL stands for, but its refering to the angel eye rings. So the last option includes what you most likely will want: the housing, HID, and angel eyes.

Bimmer360 03-18-2008 01:58 PM

sorry, it's Cold Cathode Floresent Lighting. If you are not getting that, all you will have is a set of halogen angel eyes pre-installed.

Bimmer360 03-18-2008 02:14 PM

AE = Angel Eyes
CCFL = Cold Cathode Floresent Lighting

I would recommended getting the HID xenon, since it's like HDTV compared to analog. The halogen Angel eyes looks dull so you might want the CCFL ones.

This is the best aftermarket and close to OEM for prefacelift X5s. When you have the HID Xenon and CCFL combo, youw ill be amazed on how it looks!

Like others have said, one option are our Projector53 kits. These are complete headlight replacements that swap out the entire assembly for projector based xenons and built in angel eyes. The angel eyes are 6000k to match the xenons and they are backed by our lifetime warranty.

jlevi, do you install AEs? If so, how much you charge for install?

Wow! Thanks a lot for your all your replies! I feel I'm getting closer to a decision.

So, I went to the site and there are a few options to choose from. What do I pick? I want it to be as close as the original oem fitted headlights! If you can please write down what I need to order I'll get on it asap! And will you ship to Norway, Oslo - and for how much?

Thanks again!!!

We work with a shop that can do the install for you. Typical headlight install runs about $250.

For the most OEM setup, go with the 4500k xenons (99% OEM match) and do not select the 50w high output or xenix high beams. You can reuse your stock high beam bulbs and the 50w output will be brighter than OEM. Of course, if you want maximum light output, go with the 50w option but if you are looking for a direct OEM match, the standard 35w output will suffice.

Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions!

if your talking about darwin's shop, i'd rather not go there.

I know there are several performance shops that fellow X5World members have used. I would try posting in the regional forums to find recommendations.

The cut off will be very similar to what you would get with an OEM set of headlights. These use an OEM style D2S based system for optimal light output and an easier installation.

The fit and finish is guaranteed to be like an OEM headlight, we have had no complaints as far as that is concerned.
