Telephone

I had my Pearl 8100 working great with my X5 over bluetooth. The vehicle is a 2005 with nav. I paired my girlfriends cell with it. It accepted the bluetooth keypass but when connecting it is stuck at the "please wait" screen. It never times out and remains at that screen. I have turned off the vehicle and turned it back on and it immediately goes back to the please wait screen once I click the initial danger while driving, yada yada accept message. Besides pulling fuses, how can I get it out of that or reset it?

Thanks!

Should have posted in Bluetooth forum.
Happened to me once. It was stuck at phonebook transfer screen. Everytime I start car it will be stuck at same screen. I had to remove pair from phone and also pair some other phones so as to remove it from X5. X5 pairs max of 5 phones and then its FIFO. Then did it next time. Best time to pair is when you are getting ready to go somewhere. Pair phone and then drive away. This give the phone time to transfer phonebook.

I didn't search for a Bluetooth forum. That's good to know!

Yes, I tried removing the pairing but does not seem to affect. When I attempt to create a new pairing it is not found. As if it is still stuck looking for an address book on the other phone.

I have the same issue with a '05 4.4

My Moto Z6 will do that - have to pull the fuses marked telephone in the back with the car off to get the radio back. My moto will work on occasion but it's too big of a hassle to have the car just decide to transfer phonebook or get stuck. However, my pearl works great. It would be nice if there was an answer only option for phones that don't like to sync with BMW.

That's what I suspected. I just didn't want to go taking apart the glovebox already to get to the fuse box. It looks like I know what I'll be doing tomorrow.

The fuses I pull are in the rear, passenger side compartment.

They are on the left bank and labeled "telephone" on the legend.

It happened to me once

You have to remove fuse No7 from Glovebox and the first FOUR fuses (5x somethink, from the right side of the trunk) for a complete reset of the ULF...

I did those earlier as those are easy. It appears #7 is the magical fuse though.
