Exhaust Tips
 

I have an "05" 4.4 and would like to replace the exhaust tips with the 4.8 tips. Is this possible to do? If it is, where can I go to puchase the tips and what if anything is needed to have them installed. Do I need to have the local Midas take care of some cutting of the old tips to place on the new?

yes, remove the 4.4 tips and have the 4.8 tips welded.

Just saw OEM Pair 4.8 tips on ebay sold for 89.99 +10 shipping. Just keep checking ebay.

Shouldn't be a problem getting it done. I had mine done at the dealers.

Do they make these in black? I like these, but also love my black ones on my 4.4. The ebay guy only appears to have chrome, though...

4.6/4.8is tips arrived today. They look awesome! Will be installed this coming weekend. Oh, my 4.6 kit arrives tomorrow! Yay! So new look for my X next week for sure....

Don't forget to take before and after pictures. Will be waiting to see it.

i got the front already but not the rear, it ill be tomorow. You beat me on this one...hahaha. Congratulations man! lol

Mine arrive today as well, I wonder if they need to be welded or would they just fit after I remove the OEM Black Chrome ones:dunno:?

saw my post recently, i posted pics of these tips installed last weekend. It didn't fit on mine, had to saw it and added smaller in diameter pipes.

I also picked-up a set from that ebay person (for my 4.4i) and am very happy with the quality...had them mounted at a muffler shop and they turned out really nice! I had them spray the hi-temp black paint inside and it works great (got paint from Home Depot for $5...autozone didn't have any hi-temp paints) Cost of install was only $50.00

I also highly recommend this as it just looks soooo much better! If anyone in the Phoenix, AZ area wants to know where I went for the install just give me a shout.
