Lowering Kit Update:
Thanks to some great advice from Silver 5 and Weasel I have all of the lowering kit parts in my possession, I leave for Disney with the family on 9/24 and have made an appointment with VAC Motorsports to have all of the parts installed (Bilstein HD front struts, H&R front lowering springs and the rear end links) while I am away. BTW I did have the AFE CAI installed last week and since the temp is turning cooler I definitely notice a diference in acceleration especially in Sport mode and when I use the paddles. I will post pics of the AFE and the X lowered when I pick it up on Monday 9/29. |
ljnlaw,
Any updates or pics of the new suspension? I'd like to perform the same upgrades, but I am concerned about how it will affect the ride quality. Since the wife drives the X as well, it needs to pass her inspection. Has the ride quality greatly changed with the H&R upgrade? |

Here is the link with pics of my X lowered and with the AFE CAI. The great thing about the lowering kit (H&R springs, bilstein HD struts and rear end links) is that it did not make the ride more stiff it just lowered the center of gravity which makes the X handle better. Plus it looks much better, and I don't mind because I never intend on taking my 4.6is on serious off road excursions. I did not end up buying the parts from BAV Auto they did not have the parts in stock and could not tell me when they would come in. I ended up buying the parts from modbargains and from another internet source which I cannot remember off the top of my head...but if you PM me I will look them up for you. |
