can't get rid of white route line on nav?
 

Hi All,

I just was riding in my X5 with a friend of mine, who thought that the fact that after I terminated route guidance, the white route line stays on the screen (with no guidance or voice) is a bug. I always thought it was normal, so I figured that I would check with the experts here!

Should the white route line remain on the nav screen after route guidance is terminated?

I am running V.30 on an E53.

Yes untill you get to the destination or leave the car for 10 min (the time it takes the car to go to sleap)
Most likely a bug, no reason for the function to be there

I'm no expert (only had my X5 2 days), but I have been researching the sat nav (I'm on 3-1/41). Mine does the same, check out this ebay link for operating system upgrades, I found it quite usefull.

there is a USE for that. Since you cannot turn the voice guidance, canceling it would enable you to see the visual guide still without the VOICE which some people find annoying.

hmmm, i never noticed this on my X, the white line goes away after i reached my destination, ill check if it goes away when i terminate it without reaching my destination..

you can turn off the voice guidance? if you just press and hold on I believe the instruction option after selecting in the nav screen

yeah, mine doesnt do that for some reason so i assume thats what its for.
