Coolant Resivour Cracked!
 

Wow, what a surprise! After getting my 01 X5 (103,00 mi) serviced yesterday, today at lunch I came out only to find antifreeze all over the ground. Maybe a considence, maybe not. : - ( who knows.

I took it back to where I was yesterday, because they really do have a good mechanic. He quickly found the leak coming from the coolant resivour. It had split down one entire side, and if you pour water / antifreeze in it came right back out.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Should I be concerned about anything else, as to why it all of a sudden cracked / exploded?

I left my baby at the garage under lock and key, and have the expansion tank, expansion tank cap, and expansion tank hose being overnighted from BimmerZone.

This is normal...be glad you made it 103K miles before it happened. Quick fix and don't forget to change the hose as well.....Phil

I ordered the Expansion Tank, Hose, and Cap just to be safe : - )
