Door will not lock or unlock by remote

I was just replaced the door lock on front driver side on my 2001 X5. Everythings seem to be functionals, but the door will not lock or unlock by remote. I have to use the key from outside to lock the door, Can someone help me to fix this problem,

Thanks, in advance

Hey Kenny,
What did you figure out about that?

does it work with the button by the hazard lights button?

if it works with the button on the console below the shifter, then you have a problem with the computer accepting the key but i really doubt that since all the other doors work.

if you have the same symptoms, then there's a fault with the door lock. maybe the connections are fine but the lock mechanism is bad. those are the only two possibilities.

I also have an 01' X5. I got a similar problem that the front driver door side could not be unlocked nor locked by the remote about three years ago. At first I thought it was the lock itself. But replacing the lock did not fix it. I then tried replacing the control unit of the front driver door but it wasn't the case either.

When I installed my stereo system, as I routed the speaker cable from the back to the front driver door side, I had to open up the rubber piece at the door hinge that connects the body to the front driver door. I found that the pins of the connectors were rusted (looked like they were oxidized badly with some greenish color appearance) and one pin actually broke off. I cleaned that connector up and sticked a new pin to replace that broken one. It has been working like a charm since then. Hope this helps.

Justin.
