Let me answer this and it is YES. Let me tell you why. Every morning, i really leave early and sometimes when i park outdoor, i wish i have heated steering wheel and for about 10 mins, i put up with it. Do i need? Perhaps not all the time, but you dont have to be in a cold city to benefit from it. It's like we dont need angel eyes, the xenons are just more than enough but its a nice mod, same thing with that IMO.

can you have a paddle shifter on a m tech steering wheel?
Or just on m3 wheels?

You may do a search, but I believe Bimmer360 upgraded to a paddle shifter setup.

BTW, Wuzin, the more I stare at your wheel, the more I wished that I would have gone with the heated wheel...

Installing a heated steering wheel is not quite as simple as just swapping out any other wheel. You will have to do a little more than just disconnect the battery. Unless your car previously had heated steering, chances are it is not pre-wired for this mod. You will need a new steering switch and a new relay. I did this mod over a year ago and it is by far one of the best features of my X5.

Here is my complete step-by-step write up on this mod...
