I used this link to set mine up and I really like it K Band Automute settings WalkThrough for Newbies - Radar Detector Jammer Forum |
Hey, Cleaner, that is a great post. I will work on reprogramming mine with that info later today. I have wondered for a long time why the X band is still there, and why we could not turn it off. I guess I just didn't look into it properly, and now you have handed me the info. Thanks!

Man I wish you guys would do searches before posting info, that way you'd find what you were looking for and not miss stuff! E55AMG2 and realchef are correct. Here is the deal:1. Stealth One was in business for a while and then eventually did stop production when demand fell off which was a long long time ago.
2. Then due to a very high resurgent demand (M5 board reference, etc) the company prepared for a one time limited production run. They requested interested buyers to contact them via e-mail with the number of units they would want to purchase. After a couple of months to source parts, start assembly, etc. an announcement was made on their pending delivery and purchase price which was $300 + $20 shipping. This was around February 2008 I believe. There was one short delay and then unit were shipped around April 2008. 3. Sales were completed promptly and after a month or two I believe there were some extra units which were offered for something like a $20 discount to get rid of all the stock. They were quickly sold and the site was updated to show that the units are now (again) no longer in production. 4. On rare occasion they come up for sale on ebay. I posted a link for one recently which went unsold (!) and then was relisted and finally sold. See post #2 here: http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum...ealth-one.html 5. From what I was told when I bought mine they will never be made again. Quote:

X5 Meister,
 Are you saying that I was incorrect? You have just confirmed that they have not been sold since April 2008 --- that is a year ago. Not sure what sort of case you're trying to make but it sounds like you're confirming my posts... |
It seemed like you were saying they were never back, but they were back and now they are no longer back. Not building a case, just clearing up speculation and conjecture.

PS: They are not back, according to their website, BUT they are selling the Stealth One if you email them. Weird. |
When you come up with the mount let me know I'd like to see it.

Actually X5 M, I have been pondering this since the RVM attachment was posted for 75.00 by a vendor. Machined out of aluminum and placing the V1 under the RVM. This location is still obvious IMO. Your opinion and suggestions would be appreciated. What I envision is a piece of steel (spring steel) folded in advanced C shape. Wide flat top piece to slide between the headliner, glass and roof. Curved under (2" down) allowing the V1 clip to screw in. Very simple, hopefully successful. Laser is not a concern here. This location works well for radar. |
Not sure if this qualifies as a hijack, but what the hell...
Yeah I saw that RVM clip too and liked it a lot, but it seems to really block a bit of the windshield which I don't like and it's also pretty obvious IMHO; sort of screams 'steal me'. The other company that makes a similar product seems to have a better design, at least it looks that way, in that the V1 still hangs under the RVM, but just barely so and even hangs at a bit of an angle to be less obstructive. Unfortunately the mount doesn't work with BMW RVM's. Too bad. A couple of thoughts... - I personally would prefer a mount as high up as possible and between the RVM and passenger visor, but I still need laser support. So don't know how bad that will affect it. - I haven't decided if I want a mount that permanently holds the V1 or a quick release setup to be able to lock it in the glovebox. What I don't want is it getting stolen by a parking attendant. Ask me how I know. - I am absolutely stunned that with the success of the V1 and all the engineering of the Stealth One that no one has developed a remote rear laser option that could mount on the back windshield or similar spot, thus allowing one to mount the V1 any way they want in front without losing rear laser protection. In the meantime, I'm still hunting for a solution; that's why your note intrigued me! |
